I thought the free wireless internet networks would be faster than my laggy, disconnecty home network... They installed one recently at my local library (10 mins walk from home!) and today I've mooshed along to give it a try.
it downloads at almost 80 kb/s!!! (home is aorund 20)
But it won't let me open GW, i dont now if you guys see my load in, but once i hit the loading page, i get stuck there. I'll keep trying to make it work so one day (like omg) I will be able to dungeon/vanq without DCs... even though whenever I scream upon opening a HM dungeon end chest "WOOT I GOT 2 DIAMONDS HOMG SO LUCKEEEE" everyone else in the library will give me nasty looks!

like toby i have the same problem. Im on vacation at the moment with my family. The place we stay provides free wireless high speed internet. At the house i have wireless to and it wrks just fine. But here when i try to log in to guild wars it loads but when it goes to connecting to arena net it just stays there. I tried a ton of things but i cant seem to make it run guild wars.

It could be because of the bandwidth, Guild Wars uses up a lot of it, and since a free server has to sustain dozens of connections, it could just block programs/downloads that suck up a lot of the bandwidth.
