Since I play GW, I lost 4(!) nVidia graphic cards in three months. The first two cards Asus 8600 GT Silent (SLI), then a new Asus 8600 GT Silent and the last was an MSI NX8400GS. All during gameplay. The screen became unreadable (lots of artifacts) and finally no response at all. Temperature at the moment of failing well within range (between 60 and 70 degrees C). No signs of overheating. They just stop working. Running here Vista Home Premium 32 bit, 4 GB memery and an Asus M2N SLI deluxe motherboard. Never seen this happen before. Are there more people out there with this problem? Now I'm using an old ATI X300 Silent and no problems at all

Have you ever noticed a light squeeling sound when playing Guild Wars on those Asus and MSI cards?

Temps are between 60 and 70 degrees Celcius when running GW. Around the 60 degrees when using a single card, 65-70 when using SLI (normal, since the lower card is heating up the upper card). Well within the nVidia / Asus specs. Please note that neither of these cards have fans! To compensate there is a 120 mm outlet on the back of the computer and a 80 mm outlet fan on the side as recommended by Asus Computer is if free from the walls and the floor. For a link with specs for the 8600 see here (Asus website)

That's what you get for using products made in Taiwan and China. >.> Lol, which products are not made in those countries these days ? I did hear of the heating problem, I even asked about it when I bought those cards (the reason I'm using nVidia is Linux. nVidia works better for me with Linux). They told me that 'the problem was solved'..... Anyway, all those cards are returned to the manufacturer and I'm waiting for the new ones Not sure if I am ever going to use them Well, some more replacement parts on stock here

Response might be late but FYI,, running SLI or Crossfire post allot of problems with their respective configs coz u still have to check if its compatible with the motherboards, power supply for it to work well, catalyst (each drivers must have their own version of catalyst) if not ull get BSOD (Blue Screen of Death or corruption), and last but not the least compatibility with the RAMs ur r using. So in short guys if would be better to let microsoft update ur driver although its good to go directly to the product site itself "IF" u know wut ur doing otherwise dont.
So right now i have a crossfire running only drivers i installed coz the catalyst is giving me much problems due to overclocking. Hope this info will help u guys.
